Preparing for your sample collection
Each type of home sample collection has its own guidelines. Here's what to expect before, during and after your appointment, wherever you are in Repentigny, Lanaudière or the East end of Montréal.
Home Blood Draws
Paper or electronic, along with your health insurance card and a piece of ID.
Certain tests (fasting glucose, lipid panel) require 8 to 12 hours of fasting. Your prescription or doctor will indicate this.
Drinking water (no juice or coffee) makes the venipuncture easier, even while fasting.
Performed with single-use equipment, in a comfortable position — seated or lying down, whichever you prefer.
Once the draw is complete, the sample is promptly delivered to the lab, following the required timeframe and storage conditions.

Single sample (mid-stream), screening, or 24-hour urine collection: the method depends on your request.
